Your data rights (GDPR)

Your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, explained simply — and how to use them at 4job.com.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

1. Your data, your control

Cognexa Software Limited is based in Cyprus and follows the GDPR for every candidate, wherever you live. Your data is stored in the EU, shared with an employer only after you approve an introduction, and can be deleted by you at any time.

2. Right to access

You can see what we hold about you. Your profile, matches and introductions are visible in your account, and you can request a full copy of your data, including consultant notes, at any time.

3. Right to correct

If something is wrong or out of date, edit it in your profile or ask us to correct it. We will also inform employers we have introduced you to, where relevant.

4. Right to delete

Delete your profile in one click in Settings → Privacy → Delete my account. Your profile, matches and messages are erased immediately from the live service and from backups within 30 days. We keep only the minimum we are required to by law, such as placement invoices.

5. Right to download your data

Download your profile and history in a machine-readable format (JSON and PDF) from Settings → Privacy → Export my data, so you can take it elsewhere.

6. Right to object and restrict

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests — for example, using your data to improve our matching engine — or ask us to pause processing while a question is resolved. You can also pause matching at any time.

7. Right to withdraw consent

If we rely on your consent, for example for newsletters or analytics cookies, you can withdraw it in one click. It won't affect anything we did before.

8. Automated decisions

Our engine calculates match scores, but no introduction is made by a machine alone: a 4job.com consultant reviews every match, and you decide which companies to meet. You can ask for an explanation of any score and for a human review.

9. Stealth mode

Stealth mode is on by default. Your current employer and any group companies you list will never see your profile or be matched with you. Employers see your details only after you approve an introduction to them.

10. How to exercise your rights

Most rights are available directly in your account settings. For anything else, email dpo@4job.com from the address linked to your account, or write to Cognexa Software Limited, attn. Data Protection Officer, 12 Archiepiskopou Makariou III Ave, 3030 Limassol, Cyprus.

We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Using your rights is free of charge.

11. Response time

We respond to every request within 30 days. For complex requests we may extend this by up to two further months, and we will tell you why within the first 30 days.

12. If you are not satisfied

You can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus, or with the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work.
